Tara Ward’s passion is people: making a difference in their professional and personal lives.  She is a best-selling author on personal development and spiritual well-being with sales of more than 520,000 copies worldwide. She writes a ‘Daily Uplifting Thought’ on Twitter @TaraWardBooks, and at

From a young age Tara worked as an actress and was moved to discover first-hand how you can influence people through performance, whether via laughter or tears.  She believes that evoking a strong emotion in someone, is a great springboard for change.

In her twenties she trained in psychic development at the College of Psychic Studies with Geoff Boltwood, and with Sharry Clark and Mary Poulton at the Spiritualist Association of Great Britain, where she also went on to teach for two years.

After a move to management training in 1992 Tara has worked with a range of clients from CEOs in multi-national corporations through to young graduates. She has worked in more than 40 countries across five continents, developing new ways to improve communication between all cultures: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Tara has published thirteen books and is about to publish her fourteenth in the wake of the success of Mindful Journaling (2017), published by Arcturus, which has sold more than 129,000 copies. Her other books include the titles Meditation & Dreamwork, The Telepathy Kit, The Healing Handbook: A spiritual guide to healing yourself and others, Discover Your Inner Psychic, and Discover Meditation & Mindfulness. Mindfulness Journaling was published in July of this year and The Art of Mindful Journaling is due out in 2020.

In November 2015 her eBook series on Mindfulness was published by Arcturus with the titles ‘Mindfulness for Success’, ‘Mindfulness for Confidence’ and ‘Mindfulness for Happiness’.  In addition to her factual books, Tara is currently working on her first novel.

Tara also run workshops and gives talks on two of her passions: Meditation and Mindfulness. Her emphasis is on inspiring others through fun discussions with practical, simple exercises that everyone can do easily.

  • Mindfulness - the word Mindfulness has entered mainstream society in the last few years. Everyone is talking about it but what exactly does it mean and how do you do it? Tara explains how ‘being in the moment’ is simple and easy to do, using her personal journey of discovery to explain its benefits and uses. She demonstrates fun and quick ways to access mindfulness that everyone can enjoy.
  • Meditation - Meditation can conjure up images of cross-legged gurus but Tara likes to de-bunk any mysticism and to explain it as a useful technique that anyone can learn to employ, even for a short length of time. She talks about the historical significance of meditation, as well as the benefits and what it has done for her personally. She discusses the importance of breathing and gives fun tips and techniques on how to deepen your breath quickly and without effort.
  • A combination of the two talks above is also offered

Mindful Journaling
Journaling is a journey leading to self-knowledge. Taking time out to keep a journal is the perfect way to find out who you really are, what goals you should be setting yourself and how to harness your inner energy to get the most from life. The simple act of writing short pieces each day can help you to improve your life dramatically and Mindful Journaling shows you how to structure your entries to help you de-stress, clarify thoughts and feelings, resolve problems, improve relationships and build a record of your life. Not only will journaling increase your sense of happiness, it's also a lot of fun.
